The challenge

The site our partner planned to work on was situated in the town centre of Hamilton in Scotland. This meant that they would be operating in a built up area which means there was more potential for theft or damage. 

At the beginning of the contract, the site had no source of power. There were also plans for the site layout to change frequently as the development progressed and it was essential that our partner was able to have the right CCTV solution in place to help them overcome these different challenges. 

Our partner also needed CCTV that was able to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure their management team could keep a close eye on the site from any given location.

The solution

During the initial site survey our engineers determined that due to the location, the site was at high risk of interference and recommended the site was protected from the commencement of the development works.

Our first installation on site saw our engineers install a Self Powered Ai Eco-Tower at the groundworks stage of the development. This gave the full site 360 degree protection and a detection area spanning one hundred and forty metres. The self powered function solved our lack of mains electricity until the site compound was set up.

When mains power became available, the engineers installed a robust Ai Fixed System. The fixed system incorporated 8 cameras which provided coverage to the full perimeter of the site. Battery operated RSI cameras were utilised on the scaffolding too.

Quarterly reviews were undertaken and as the development progressed, the system was adapted as required. The client was issued with a remote login facility for the camera system on site, providing access to live footage as well as stored recordings. This ensured their management team had the capability to monitor the site at any point to make sure it was safe and secure at all times.

The results

The site in Hamilton remained fully secured and totally covered throughout the duration of the development. Our partner was extremely pleased with how accommodating our team was throughout the project and commended the effectiveness of the CCTV solutions that were put in place.

7 Intrusions were also detected and prevented from escalating to a more serious outcome thanks to the CCTV implemented. Both the client and our partner had peace of mind knowing that the site was as secure as possible during the build.
